Lions and tigers and bears, oh my!  Skunks and caterpillars and zebras, oh my!  Never have I seen such an adorable and hilarious assortment of canine Halloween garb as can be found at I hope you will check it out (click on the link at the bottom of this blog), but I recommend doing so only if you have an empty bladder- you’ll be laughing so hard you just might ……….   have an accident!  I keep going back and forth about which is my favorite costume- it remains a toss up between the Cheerleader and the Spicy Taco!

Please have a look and then let me know which Halloween outfit is your favorite!  When you respond be sure to provide the following information:

1.  The name of your favorite costume (just one) from the OhMyDogSupplies website
2.  Your dog’s size (see sizing recommendations provided on the website)
3.  Your dog’s name, age, and breed (best guess if he or she is a mix)

Be sure to respond by October 18th because on October 19th I will randomly choose five names from those of you who have responded.  If your name is chosen, you and your dog will receive a wonderful Halloween costume (we’ll try to provide you with your favorite) compliments of OhMyDogSupplies.  In return, I will ask that you provide me with a photo of your dog in his or her Halloween duds so I can share them with my blog audience.  Happy Halloween!

Now here’s wishing you and your four-legged family members abundant good health.

  2. Kelsey Says:

    1. King of the Jungle

    2. My dog is a medium

    3. Nina will be 1 years old on Halloween! She is a blue tick hound/ pit bull mix

  3. Courtenay Says:

I was really torn between the Dinosaur and the Skunk. I gotta say, I kept coming back to the skunk, so it must be my favourite. So cute!
My dog would be a medium. Archie is a 3 year old Border collie mix, and would look adorable as a border collie skunk cross! 😉

  4. Nicky F. Says:

Our little rescue came to us with the name of “Trouble.” Since she was so tiny & sweet, we promptly changed it to “Dixie” as it seemed more fitting. We have come to learn that her original name was perfect. Thus, the Diablo Dog costume is our favorite.

    Size: small
    Name: Dixie aka Trouble
    age: 2 yrs
    breed: Maltese

  5. Cristine Camp Says:

My favorite costume is the Bumble Bee.
My female Jack Russell’s name is Ruby, her nickname is Bee or Honey Bee. The Bumble Bee costume suits her fun & busy personality, always buzzing from thing to thing 🙂
    -Cristine & the Cracker Jacks

PS She would fit a size small

  6. Tammy Says:

Oh what fun! I love Halloween and doggies and mine help me pass out candy to the 500 kids that come by and treats to any dogs. I love the clown costume since my dog’s name is Jester and he is a near 3 year old parti-cocker spaniel – he would fit in the medium costume if he happened to win! Happy Howl-o-ween!

  7. Cynthia Says:

These are all really great costumes!! *lol*

I think my favorite is the Zebra. My Harley, is a female, black, hairless, Chinese Crested, just shy of her third birthday. She would make an excellent Zebra, as she already looks like a little pony, or in this case zebra, just missing the stripes!!

  8. Cynthia Says:

Oops!! Forgot to add that my Harley would wear a size small in the Zebra costume!!

  9. Eileen Says:

So many to choose from –

Hermes is convinced he’s the King of the Jungle – so that has to be his costume.
    Hermes is a 4 1/2 year old Papillon/Spaniel mix. He’s a small.

  10. Catherine Says:

I loved looking at all the costumes, but my go-everywhere girl already has one. However, I did want to pass on my tip for a happy, safe Halloween: If your dogs enjoy greeting the ghosts and goblins, keep them safely indoors by using a baby gate at your front door. You don’t want your pups scooting out the door in their excitement. Don’t forget to keep them away from the candy, especially the chocolate and the artificially sweetened gum. Happy Howloween!

  11. Jana Rade Says:

Me and my dogs have an agreement: I don’t make them wear humiliating outfits and they don’t make me roll in deer poop! 😉

  12. RM Says:

    1) The Silly Rabbit Costume
    2) Large
    3) Abby is a hound mix who loves to chase bunnies. It would be good for her to be “the prey” rather than the hunter :).

  13. Taryn Says:

I have Cardigan Welsh Corgis, so, being Herding dogs, they of course should dress up as the Ram. Size large please for my long-backed boys.

    Thanks for this fun contest!

  14. Dawn Says:

I wanted to first tell you that I enjoy receiving your emails. They are very informative. I also appreciate you raising awareness on topics where we may have lost focus of.

As far as the costumes…. I will tell you I have my clients learn how to do body handling with their puppies by teaching them to get their dogs to enjoy wearing the costumes. Before we do that though we will work on the typical, ears, paws, tails, teeth first. Then for fun we bring out the costumes and the clients can now practice the technique they have been shown. The clients love it, the dogs like to get paid for this and it is a win win situation.

  15. Karen parks Says:

My 95lb GSD, Diesel was going to be a football player and my GSD rescue girl a cheerleader. The rescue girl found her forever home so I think that Disel who will be 4 in Feb. will look great as a skunk !!!

    An X Large skunk

  16. Claire Says:

Oh, the ram costume (size Large) would be just the ticket for my Cardigan Welsh Corgi boy Bobby-he’s a 3 year old herding fool! When the sheep are not available, he escorts the cat from room to room.

    Thanks for the contest-
